Tux Web Services
Tux Web Services are a collection of web servers available as part of the Tux ecosystem to support the educational mission of the College.
What are Tux Web Services?
CCI offers a variety of web services for faculty, staff, and students. The following all use Tux credentials, and are available to all faculty, staff, and students.
Standard Web server – basic HTML and PHP sites can be served directly from your Tux home directory by placing files in your public_html folder. Sites can be reached from anywhere on the Internet. This method is also supported for CCI Faculty web pages.
Python and Node apps – dedicated servers for websites based on Python or Node.js code. These services are only available on-campus or through the VPN, due to their increased risk of attack.
How do I get access?
All CCI Faculty, Staff, and Students, as well as all students taking CCI courses, receive access to Tux. Access for students is typically granted before their first day of classes, and faculty and staff receive access when they join the College.
