Ceph
Ceph is the college's software defined storage platform. It provides storage for research and educational servers and VMs.
What is Ceph?
CCI’s hypervisor infrastructure uses Ceph for storage. This distributed, scalable, software-defined storage system allows great uptime and easy expansion of storage capacity, as well as a high degree of data redundancy and resiliency.
Ceph storage also powers Tux home directory storage and storage for research data.
Researchers can request access to Tux storage for hosted research projects, and may contribute to the total capacity of Ceph storage with their funded research projects.
Ceph currently has a capacity of 950TiB of mixed spinning and solid-state storage.
How do I get access?
To begin a conversation about Ceph access, please email Brian Bijeau at bjb344@drexel.edu. Please include any collaborators who will need access to the data, information about any access restrictions (eg HIPAA, FERPA data), and an estimate of how much storage you will need.
Where is documentation?
Documentation on Ceph does not exist yet.
