Proxmox is the college's virtualization environment for educational and research computing.
What is Proxmox?
Proxmox VE is the hypervisor platform of choice for new research and academic virtual servers. The Proxmox cluster currently has 960 CPU cores, 3.2 TiB of RAM, and access to 950TiB of storage. The platform also allows the passthrough of GPUs for dedicated compute projects.
Researchers with funded projects may purchase dedicated nodes to add to the cluster for their research, following recommendations by the CCI IT Systems team.
How do I get access?
To begin a conversation about Proxmox access, please email Brian Bijeau at bjb344@drexel.edu. Please include any collaborators who will need access to the VM, whether the VM will need to be accessible off-campus, information about any access restrictions (such as HIPAA or FERPA data), and an estimate of how many CPU cores, how much RAM, and how much storage you will need.
