Office 365 -- OneDrive -- Empty Recycle Bin and Reclaim Storage Space

When you delete file or folders in OneDrive, the files often remain in the online OneDrive web portal, taking up storage space.

You have 5 TBs of storage space, but if you ever need to reclaim storage space, or if you simply like to keep things tidy, you can empty the "Recycle bin" in the online OneDrive web portal to remote files and folder you deleted online (and possibly from your Mac or Windows computer's OneDrive folder).

Here's how to empty your online OneDrive's web portal's "Recycle bin."
     1. Visit https://portal.office.com  in your internet browser, and login with your Drexel email (the one with your DrexelOne login in it) and with your Drexel password.
     2. Click the "OneDrive" tile.
     3. Click "Recycle bin" in the left-hand navigation panel.
     4. IMPORTANT! Be sure you don't need any files or folders before deleting them.
          (a) It may be difficult or impossible to retrieve these files.
     5. Choose a method below of emptying your "Recycle bin."To completely empty your "Recycle bin," click "Empty recycle bin," and click "Delete" in the pop-up window.
          (a) To remove select files and folders, check the circle in front of each file or folder you wish to delete, click "Delete," and click "Delete" in the pop-up window.
          (b) You can check multiple files or folders.
     6. Click "Files" in the left-hand navigation panel to return to see all your un-deleted OneDrive files and folders in the online web portal.
