Office 365 -- OneDrive for Mac, backups to Documents and Downloads
1. If OneDrive is installed, make sure it isn't syncing or shows any errors. Resolve errors.
2. Visit the link below, go to the "Mac" tab, and click the download link right under "Current and pre-release versions.

3. You'll probably have to at least close OneDrive to install the new version. I haven't had to sign in again.
4. You might have to go to apple > System Prefs > Security & Privacy > Privacy > click lock to unlock lock > scroll in left window to Full Disk Access and scroll in the right window to OneDrive, check to allow, click lock to lock, and accept changes.
5. If you run into issues, best to uninstall and unlink OneDrive, if it's installed and/or set-up, up and everything is backed up.
6. Rename the original OneDrive folder if you have to unlink OneDrive.
