Course Notifications
Each End User controls their own notification settings.
- Email or push, and frequency of either: immediately/daily/weekly/off
If "Immediately" timing option is chosen, note:
- Truly Instant for: Announcements & Inbox messages
- NOT Instant for rest
- Delayed 10-60 min (e.g. for Assignment changes, grade notices)
Notifications users CANNOT disable
- Inbox unread count badge (red dot on Inbox icon)
- Announcements appearing in course Announcement area
Are there Course-level Controls?
- You control your own notifications, and no one else's, but there is "Course-Level" granularity.
- Go to "Account" icon (upper left) > "Notifications" (includes course-level dropdown), see "Settings for" drop-down.
- Also, go to your course > click "Home" > "View Course Notifications," where you can again override account level.
Not Getting Notified on Announcements You Post as a Teacher/TA?
- Go to "Account" icon (upper left) > "Notifications" > "Announcement Created By You" > click crossed-out white bell icon > select green "Notify Immediately" alarm bell.
Not Getting Notified on Inbox Conversations You Send as a Teacher/TA?
- Go to "Account" icon (upper left) > "Notifications" > scroll down to > "Conversations" section > then "Conversations Created By Me" with "You created a conversation" underneath.
- Then click crossed-out white bell icon & select green "Notify Immediately" alarm bell.
