Canvas - Date Settings in Canvas

When Canvas materials are first copied or exported from Bb Learn in bulk you can adjusted all dates based on start/end quarter.

  • We recommend: Monday of Week 1, Friday of Finals Week, though we're still experimenting.
  • Dates may still be off a bit, even if you do this right.
  • You honestly still need to check each assignment's date.

Super Helpful Tip!

  1. After the copy/export from Bb Learn or another Canvas section, go to:
  2. Canvas course > Assignments > 3 dots in upper right > Edit Assignment Dates
  3. The bulk update option lets you shift multiple due dates by 1 or more days.
  4. You can ALSO see all assignment due dates here.
  5. Recommend setting assignment due dates you're not sure about to something way in the future:
    1. 1/1/2050 or something.
  6. That way, they don't seem past due until you decide when due, or if to use.
    1. Canvas course > Assignments > 3 dots in upper right > Edit Assignment Dates
  7. This page also lets you see all due dates, availability dates, and until dates.
  8. Makes it easy to check and set each one.
