Remove Student Preview User from Groups As Soon As Possible

Do not leave student preview users in groups.
And...
Do NOT grade group assignments or submissions
while student preview users are members of a group.
You risk corrupting the results of group assignments.

Then, when you "Exit Preview," select "Keep the preview user and all data."
Then grade the "Student Preview" user in "Full Grade Center," or wherever else grading can be done in Bb Learn.

  • This "Student Preview" user will have your name, but with "_Preview User" added to the last name.

Seeing the Student My Grades Area

Students need a link to the "My Grades" webpage in your Bb Learn course section's black left navigation panel.
Otherwise, you cannot see "My Grades" in "Student Preview" mode.
Nor can students.

If you have a "Course Tools" link ABOVE the "Control Panel" in the left-hand course menu,
then click "Course Tools" and click "My Grades."
Then make sure "My Grades" is not hidden on the "Tools" or "Course Tools" webpage.

If you don't see a "My Grades" link,
add a "My Grades" tool link to the left-hand course menu in your Bb Learn course section.
Here is how.

Student Cannot See Grades, Comments, Submissions, or Assignments

If one or more students are having problem finding an assignment or test on their "My Grades" webpage, then do the following:

  1. Make sure that the Grade Center column for this assignment or test is visible to students, which is not the same as being visible to you.
See the following webpage for how to check and fix this in your Grade Center in Bb Learn.
Bb Learn Grade Center -- Hiding, Showing, and Disabling Columns
If the Grade Center column was not visible to students before, make it visible now, and ask your students if they can see the assignment or test now.
  2. If the Grade Center column was already visible, share the webpage below with your students
Bb Learn Assignments -- How Students View Feedback
Covers how students can view grades and feedback.
If one or more students are having problem submitting an assignment, then do the following:
Share the webpage below with these students on how students can view grades and feedback, and on how to send screenshots to Drexel ITG (central Bb Learn office at Drexel) via email for further assistance.

If you want your students to send you the screenshots instead, or as well, please feel free to ask your students to do so

Fixes for Accidental Use with Echo360

If you view Echo360 as a "Student Preview" user, and it's not clear if Echo360 will let you truly see what a student sees, here's how to fix it to avoid future issues with your own view of Echo360.
Hit the "Back" or "Previous" left arrow or ← in your web browser and go to a page in Bb Learn where no Echo360 content is visible.
It's okay if the left hand navigation panel has a link to Echo360.
Exit "Student Preview."
In a new web browser tab, visit https://echo360.org , and click the person icon or your photo in upper right, and click "Log out" or "Sign out."
When you view Echo360 again in your Bb Learn course section, do not do so in "Student Preview" mode. Just do so as you normally would.
That should fix any leftover issues from using "Student Preview" mode to view Echo360.
