Grade Center -- Remove Attempts from Needs Grading

Bb Learn by default goes with the last graded attempt or submission as the one to grade by and the ignore attempt feature in Bb Learn does not remove the attempt/submission from the "Needs Grading" page in "Full Grade Center." If you allow multiple attempts or submissions from a single student on a Bb Learn assignment, the "Needs Grading" page can become filled with ungraded attempts or submissions.
Here's our best advice for doing away with ungraded attempts or submissions on the "Needs Grading" page.

  1. In "Full Grade Center," click the circled down arrow for the Bb Learn assignment you are grading, click "Edit Column Information," and in the "Score attempts using" area be sure that "Last Graded Attempt" is selected.
    a.  If "Last Graded Attempt" is not selected, select it unless you have some other preference. If you do have another preference, let us know. Otherwise, click "Submit."
    b.  If "Last Graded Attempt" is selected, click "Cancel."
  2. Enter a zero for every attempt or submission each student makes before their final attempt or submission.
    a.  This will remove any prior attempts or submissions from the "Needs Grading" page.
  3. Use the final attempt or submission from each student as the attempt or submission that you give the actual grade for an assignment.
    a.  If a student submits something after you give them their actual grade:
         i.  Enter the student's grade for the assignment again in the new final attempt or submission.
ii.  Set the previous attempt or submission to zero.
iii.  If you have comments made for the student in a previous attempt or submission,
                1.  Either re-enter those comments in the new final attempt or submission…
                2.  Or you may want to instruct the student in the feedback area of their final attempt or submission to "View previous attempts/submissions on this assignment to see my
comments" (or something to that effect). Students can see all their submissions unless you actually clear them from "Grade Center."
iv.  You may wish to indicate in the final attempt's or submission's feedback area that "The grade given to you for this assignment included consideration of all attempts or
submissions" (or something to that effect). Or you may want to indicate that you only considered certain submissions or attempts, like last one or two or something. Or you may
wish to say nothing more on this front, which is fine.
